Dallin and Janelle come visit!

6:58 AM

It's been so fun living close to family on the east coast; Crismon up in New York and Dallin in Virginia.
We used to get together with Dallin and Janelle a lot when we lived in Provo Utah and so it's really fun to be close again. We were so lucky that they came up a few days before Christmas.

On Saturday, We went to the Air and Space museum in DC. We were glad we went when we did because it got super busy by the time we left. It was more kid friendly than the one by the airport so it was perfect.
That day we were also talking about going on a double date that night. Dorothy and Evelyn overheard heard us talking about it and begged to let them babysit. It would be 9 kids total with Dorothy who had just turned 12 as the oldest. Even though we were totally fine doing it, the girls still spent all day writing up a 5 paragraph essay on why they were responsible to babysit and how we should stay out late. Ha! Little did they know, they didn't have to work that hard for us to say yes. Even if they didn't think they could do it, we probably would have anyway ;)
We went rock climbing (which Janelle is an amazing rock climber) and then showed them one of our favorite restaurants Founding Farmers. We got home to find all the kids in bed and the house amazingly clean! We were so impressed!

We set up an early christmas present which was loved by all the kids

On Sunday we made gingerbread houses. It was cute to see the personalities in each of their houses

Of course Christian made some morbid gingerbread house

On Monday we went swimming at an indoor pool and then hit up Cafe Rio (half off military monday!) before they left back to Virginia. It was the perfect weekend. Us adults also played lots of games of basketball and splendor and Skull King
