12 years

Today we went on a walk as a family and had fun talking about the last 12 years of our family as today was our anniversary. Over the last 12 years there have been many different home addresses, cars we've driven, so many things stolen ;), the friends we've made and places we've visited and yet it feels like it all was just a year ago. It's crazy how time is on our minds.

Without this blog post sounding too cheesy(you can do that on your anniversary right?) I'm just feeling grateful that with all these changes, Bryan has been the best person to be with through it all. Our marriage hasn't been perfect and there have been times where it has been realllllly tough yet when it comes down to it, I am a much better person because of him.

Some of my FAVORITE memories of Bryan serving me has been during medical school. The first happened when we just moved to Arizona and Bryan was a few months into his schooling. His hours and schedule were rigorous and long. He would leave early in the morning for school, come home for an hour during dinner then go back to school to study until midnight. Since I had a nursing baby, I would go to bed before he would get home. One night, I woke up at 2am to nurse Christian and B had only been asleep for an hour when he was woken up too. He got out of bed and came over and rubbed my feet and chatted with me about my day. It was simple yet I knew he wanted to show that our marriage and family was important to him.

The 2nd happened when he was away for a month in Hawaii during our anniversary while I was in Arizona with the kids. We of course planned to celebrate it on a different day when he got back but still wanting to make it a special day, he contacted 4 families in our apt complex and set up for them to get flowers at the grocery store and bring it by to me throughout the day. It was hilarious to watch the kids open the door and laugh when they saw more and MORE flowers.

the last 12 years:
8 different cars
7 different addresses
5 kids
4 states
and LOTS of "I love yous" and....
can you please pick up milk and bananas on your way home from work texts ;)
