date nights!!

12:00 PM

During the month of June and part of July, Elisa, who is a student at BYU needed a place to land while she did an internship at NIH. So she stayed with us for a month, living in our basement.  It was easy to have her and the kids adored her. Hudson couldn't pronounce her name and kept calling her Alexa,  Elizabeth, or Angelina?? The one request we asked of her while she stayed with us was if she could watch our kids once a week so we could go on a date. It was so awesome to have a guaranteed date night every weekend and something we could look forward to that whole week. Here were some of our dates.....

1) Hiked billy goats trail at sunset! This is place is outrageously gorgeous! And then dinner in Bethesda followed by tahitian ice-cream. Sounds gross but AMAZING!! We ran into all the pediatric residents which Bryan made the comment, "I can never escape my work!"

2) Drove 2 1/2 hours to Philadelphia Saturday morning to make it to the 8am session. We hadn't been to the temple together for over a year and it was so great to do a session together! Afterwards we saw the Liberty Bell, and walked the city streets of Philly and stopped at Reading Market for some amazing food. That place was packed but it was so good! We had to take a picture of the Hudson street for our little man!

3) We went on a double date with our friends Ashley and Ryan Anderson. They have become some our good friends since we moved in. We took the metro to DC, ate some killer ice-cream sandwiches from fresh homemade cookies and then strolled around DC on electric scooters. That was the funniest thing about the date was you had to download the scooter apps and then track down where people left the scooters for you to pick them up. There was no landing station for these scooters and so its wherever you can find them. We went to the top level of JFK center of Performing Arts where they have this amazing view of downtown DC.

4) no pictures for this one, but one night we also hit up the new Spiderman movie and then dinner at Sweet Greens (I love that place so much!!)
