Hawaii vacation part 4

8:06 PM

The one cool thing about Kauai is you can't actually drive all the way around the island. The Napali coast mountains block you from going all the way around. So the only way to see the mountains face on is by a boat. So we did an afternoon boat excursion from 9am-1pm, where they take you snorkeling and then around the Napali coast mountains. It was amazing! We saw lots of dolphins and whales and cool fishes on our excursion. I highly recommend it!

the water really was this blue!

We also stopped by this beach where you can cliff jump off the rock. Bryan did it and broke his flip flops from the impact of the fall. haha. That night unfortunately we got rear ended in our rental car so that took some time but it all worked out and then we hung out at the hot tub afterwards.

The next day we went to Waimea Canyon. They call it the Grand Canyon of Hawaii.

There were lots of hikes just to do right around that area. The guidebook we had said one of the hikes was mind blowing. So of course Bryan needed to do it. We were starting late and I told Bryan there was no way we could do all 8miles by sunset. And we didn't bring lamps. He was confident it would be fine so we made a bet. Whoever won got to chose dinner. The hike was beautiful and steep. Unfortunately part of the hike got washed away and was so dangerous to finish so we just did 4 miles of it. So of course we finished by sunset and Bryan won ;) He seems to always do.

But luckily we got to do the best part of the hike. We were so high up. This is me, looking down into the canyon of the Napali Coast. We watched helicopters take tours flying down into the canyon. It was crazy to be at the same level of them.

on our way back we stopped at the most delicious shaved ice that is topped with condensed cream milk. We also hit up the pizza place again for the second time. We loved it that much ;)

Right before going to the airport we stopped at a popular secret falls.

I'm so glad we escaped on this week long vacation. Thanks to my inlaws who made it possible. It was so relaxing and such a nice break from the day to day responsibilities and spend time together! It was also fun to hang out with Bryan without kids.....I always knew Bryan was adventurous but since kids limit on where we go, I never get to see the TRUE adventurous side of Bryan, so that was fun.
