conference weekend
1:22 PM
It worked out for our family to make the trip to Utah again for Conference weekend! I love going to Utah during October because it's still (somewhat) warm and the colors on the trees are beautiful!
Bryan's parents moved to Orem this year and renovated their home. They did an amazing job and I still can't believe all they did in a few short months. It was fun to stay with them that week, as Bryan was able to do some outside projects for them. It also worked out that my parents were coming down from Oregon along with my sister Julia from Rexburg. We saw a lot of family that week!
Bryan's parents were so good at teaching their kids to work and to work hard and so it's been a priority to Bryan to do the same. So every time he was outside helping on a project, he made sure the kids were right along side him doing the same. And seriously, what kid would turn down playing in the dirt ;)
Here's what the week looked like:
Setting up a shed and building a new fence in their backyard:
Cody, Jacob and Tesa also came down for the weekend!
Hanging out on BYU campus:
It's crazy how much has changed since we've moved 3 years ago. It was so fun to drive down 9th East and to reminisce all the cool memories we had there. We had to stop by JDawgs of course :)
BYU game against Utah State:
A really sad game when their quarterback and some starters had to sit out for injury. Ugh, it was depressing but a fun date with Bryan nonetheless! :)
Rock climbing up Rock Canyon in between Saturday sessions:
Bryan told the kids he would buy them a Gatorade if they climbed to the top. Apparently our kids would do anything for a gatorade :)
Gardner Village with G&G Lewis and Johns family:
Evelyn and Kenna
Elliot and Christian
cousins!
Birch 106 roommates:
I had the best roommates at BYUI and they all now live in Utah except for me. So they were so great to all get together the few short days I was in town. We drove up to Midway and had a potluck at Megan's inlaw's amazing and HUGE house! It was such a blast to catch up. We roomed together during 2007 and now 7 years later we are all married with 10 children between us. They have been such awesome examples to me and I'm so glad I got to see them. That night after dinner we stayed and hung with Megan and Jon Matthew and swam in the huge indoor pool and hot tub!
