Fall 2020

Hudson with telling Evelyn and Christian how we really wanted to go to Harry Potter World. At the time we didn't know if that would actually happen, so Evelyn and Christian decided on their own that they would create a Harry Potter experience for Hudson and Jocelyn. They planned the whole thing; what they would eat, what they would wear and what the dining hall would look like. They spent some time looking on Amazon for banners, robes, chocolate frog molds and a sorting Hat. It was fun to see them plan the whole thing. They wanted steak and potatoes and fruit salad for dinner and chocolate molds for dessert. They started the night out by presenting Hudsona and Jocelyn with their robes and wands and then they had them sit on a chair to use the sorting hat to decide which house they were in. It was such a fun night for Bryan and I to watch Evelyn and Christian plan and execute the whole thing. I always forget how creative and clever they can be when we don’t step in as parents.

That fall, we also went apple picking and potato picking and then fed the farm animals there. We have loved going to Butler's Orchard in Maryland and really going to miss it when we move. We also took the kids to a pumpkin patch and farm where there was lots of games, feeding animals and eating some amazing apple cider donuts
