Myrtle beach 2020
6:44 PMFor awhile now, we have been wanting to do our own family vacation. In fact, most of our vacations are traveling to see extended family (which we love) but we have never done our own family vacation. So during our Christmas break, we booked a beach house for the end of January at Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
We knew that it was winter and it may not be the warmest weather but we heard sometimes they get warm weeks. BUT this turned out to be one of the cooooooold weeks. ha! We had so much fun enjoying our awesome beach house (the kids were in heaven that there was a tv in every room), and swimming lots in the hot tubs.
Since it was the off season, we literally had the whole resort to ourselves. They had so many different indoor and outdoor pools (...that were kind of heated) and then LOTS of hot tubs. I felt like we went from pools to hot tubs, back to pools etc. The kids even braved running from the hot tub to the ocean in 50 degree weather.
We also loved just hanging out at the beach and playing bocce ball. There were so many seagulls and everytime we threw the little ball, the seagulls would swoop down and grab it thinking it was food. The kids thought it was hilarious and would run after them until they dropped it out of their mouth.
On the one day it was raining, we took the kids to Wonder Works which is a science museum with lots of simulations. It was actually really cool. We spent most of the day there going from one room to the other. The kids favorite was the roller coaster simulation that made you feel like you were going on a fast roller coaster, bubble area and ropes course.. It was a perfect ending to our trip.
