general conference surprise!

8:14 PM

Like I said in previous posts, I'm not a spontaneous person but I'm working on it! :) So during the month of October, Bryan was rotating in Psychology. The first week, his hours were awesome! Everyday he would be off around 11am. So with this low key rotation, Bryan came up with the idea of driving the 10 hours up to Utah for the weekend to surprise his family.

You see, I'm not much of a road trip person and so the thought of it was a little daunting. But at the same time, it sounded so fun and I love surprising people and if we left friday afternoon, it wouldn't be so bad. So on Thursday night I prayed about it and felt good that this was a good desicion so we committed to going. The next morning, I got the kids packed and snack food ready. Ironically though on that day, Bryan never got off early----in fact he didn't get home until 5pm.

I was so ticked at this point because we wouldn't make it until Saturday morning and then we would have to turn around the very next day. But after seeing Bryan so disappointed, I decided "what the heck" lets just do this.

We got in Saturday am and slept for 2 hours before we headed over to surprise my parents who came down for General Conference. We arrived at my sister's house and knocked on her door and their reactions were priceless!

my sister had so many fun activities out for the kids

my son is so righteous ;)

Got to attend the 2nd session on Saturday. We were so close, it was awesome!

Stories from Grandpa are the best

While we were there that weekend Bryan and his brothers got to go rock climbing and eat out at cafe rio. I wished I got pictures from it! We were so glad we made the drive.....it's always so fun!

During that weekend though, I figured out a way to stay a whole week longer while Bryan went back to AZ. I definitely didn't pack for a week (and ended up doing a lot of laundry) but I'm so glad I did. The kids and I stayed with my sister. There is something about having a sister that is the best thing ever! I'm just so lucky to have so many of them :) But the best times of the trip was just sitting around and chatting about being woman things :) Along with all my sisters, she is such an example to me and always come away with wanting to be a better mom and wife!
The kids and I also got to see Bryan's family throughout the weekand spend time with them! We are so lucky to have them in Utah.....a lot closer than Florida! Grandma Williams is so fun with the kids! To my kids, her house is Willy Wonka factory. She has candy galore and all at their level of reach! Those kids were spoiled with so much love....and sugar :)

On Thursday night, I went out to dessert with Bryan's family. My Sister in law Jessica waitresses there. Between all our kids, we destroyed that table.....can't believe she still claimed us as family
