RIP fish
4:22 PMThis story is long over due but most of what I want to post about happened way in the past.......oh well, I'll get caught up sometime!
Bryan home teaches a family who was going to be gone to Canada over the Christmas break and asked us to "babysit" their fish. Since we weren't really going anywhere, it was a perfect opportunity for us to serve them :)
When they brought over the fish, I jokingly said, "I hope you realize that I have never kept a fish alive longer than 3 days." He laughed but simply said, " I won't be mad if it dies but my wife might."
So a week went by and the fish was still breathing. I was feeling really good about myself at this point. The next week was when we were going to be gone for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. As I was packing things up and running out the door to leave I thought, while we are gone we might as well turn off the heat. I mean, there was no reason to pay for it when no one was going to be here...........well, except the fish. I totally forgot about the poor creature when turning off the heat.
When Bryan came in the door after being gone for a day and a half. The poor guy was frozen in the water DEAD!!(ok, not really frozen but I'm sure close....) I couldn't believe that I had actually killed the fish. It's true, I wish to say it was false. But what is true is that we will probably never have animals.
RIP FISH!! Your stay in our apt for a week was a pleasure!
