(This post may be a little disgusting so beware)
At the beginning of last week, I came down with a stomach flu that left me in bed for 3 days straight. Evelyn was a champ to play on my bed during those days while I layed down. Nonetheless, laundry still needed to be done and grocerys still needed to be bought. So on Wed, I took Evelyn and we ventured out to the grocery store in hopes it would be a short trip. Since I was still pretty weak and woke up in such a mad mood I had no desire to lug around her diaper bag so I quickly grabbed a diaper and my wallet and left. On the way there I smelled something quite disgusting and prayed it wasn't a poopy diaper. But sure enough, she was poopy but not just in her diaper but all down her leg and pants. And I'm talking, 'just ate carrots and squash' poopy. I wanted to throw up, cry and laugh at the same time. Since I didn't bring any wipes, I searched for scraps of paper to wipe some of it off her leg. Thank goodness I'm in mormonville because I saw a mother with twins coming towards her car and knew I was in luck. After retrieving some wipes and successfully taking off her dirty clothes, we finally made it into the store 10 min later with Evelyn completely naked only wearing a sweater. I'm sure everyone in the store wondered why I carry around my naked baby in 55 degree weather. I was even thinking of entering myself in for "Worst mother of the Year" award.
But thankfully, I have a mother who has been through the same experience numbers of time and I could call her and laugh about it later!
(oh yeah, and Evelyn repeated this exact same experience just 2 days later. Luckily I learned my lesson and I was prepared!)
